Petredec's wholly-owned LPG terminal in Port Louis, Mauritius, has a capacity of 15,000 tonnes, making it the largest land-based LPG storage facility in sub-Saharan Africa.
The facility was completed in the first quarter of 2014 and will serve as a central hub for LPG supply to East Africa and the Indian Ocean islands. The jetty can accommodate the largest LPG carriers with a capacity of 84,000 cubic metres. Petredec has 12 such vessels on order.
Petredec Reunion SAS acquired the LPG distribution business of Chevron in the Indian Ocean Island of Reunion in 2008.
LPG is sold under our PETREGAZ brand and cylinders are sold through Engen service stations, retail outlets and commercial businesses on the island.
PETREGAZ is Petredec's registered brand name for LPG retail distribution. PETREGAZ distributes LPG in bulk to industrial and commercial users, and in a range of convenient cylinder sizes for both domestic and businesses.
PETREGAZ is also actively involved in the development of the Autogas market, promoting the use of LPG as an environmentally friendly and logical substitute for gasoline.
