HANDY SIZE
Petredec made the decision to enter the Handy segment of LPG shipping.
Following on from the success in both the VLGC and small ship pressurised market, Petredec made the decision to enter the Handy segment of LPG shipping.
For many years, Petredec had chartered out its smaller vessels for the use of transporting Petrochemicals and occasional Ammonia, but never had it
built vessels in a sector of the market that predominantly had been employed transporting these cargos.
In 2007 Petredec's first purchase was the "Golden Miller", a 16,000cbm semi ref type vessel.
Following on from the "Golden Miller" four new buildings were to join our fleet.
Two Fully Ref 22,500cbms vessels "Nashwan" and "Nijinsky" delivered in 2008 from HHI in Korea and two
22,000cbm Semi Ref vessels "Dancing Brave" and "Desert Orchid" in 2009 from Jiangnan yard in China.
Both Fully Ref vessels immediately went on long time charter employed in Amonia. The remaining three vessels in our fleet currently operate in the spot market.
