SMALL SHIPS

Petredec recently purchased two 11,000cbm pressurised vessels the "Keswick" and the "Kendal".

Small Ships have always been an important part of the LPG shipping market for Petredec.

The company has a long history of sale and purchase as well as many years of trading and transportation within this sector.

Petredec's pressurised first time charter in 1981 was the "Everdina" and over the next 15 years our fleet would grow to over 35 vessels trading East of Suez, Europe and the Atlantic, and the Caribbean.

However as the 21st century got underway it was becoming clearer that importers were searching for cheaper Fully Ref LPG delivered on bigger vessels and the refinery's, the traditional suppliers to the small ship market, were using LPG at source for cracking and petrochemical purposes.

Petredec saw this is an opportunity to reduce its fleet, and over a period of 3 years sold upwards of 24 vessels.

Today in a very different market to the 1980s and 90's our fleet consists of

8 owned vessels and bareboat small ship vessels (up to 12,000cbm), and a similar amount of time chartered vessels from third parties.

Petredec is always looking for opportunities to increase our fleet again if the right opportunities present themselves.

This is apparent with our recent purchase of two 11,000cbm pressurised vessels the "Keswick" and the "Kendal".
